Special thanks to: Sam Cardwell, Ken Davis, Larry Talley and Bob Learmont for constructing an amazing ramp for Lynne Aubrey. Thanks to the Men’s Club for furnishing the materials.
Family Care Ministry
As part of Lebanon First UMC’s service to the bereaved, the Family Care Ministry Team provides a lunch following funerals. Many church members are the helping hands behind making these meals possible, with their service ranging from organizing, calling, shopping, cooking, set up and clean up. Notice for these meals is usually short, but the work is very manageable.
Most people on the receiving end of these meals have expressed how much the meal means to them and how the simple act of being provided a warm meal and being able to share this meal with family and friends after the service, can bring so much comfort. This ministry is truly one of comfort and healing.
Prayer Shawl/Baby Blanket Ministry
This ministry team, made up of both men and women, knits prayer shawls, lap robes and baby blankets. As these are being knit, prayers are offered up for the person that will be receiving them. Shawls and lap robes are given to those who are ill, lonely, grief stricken, or to those who are in a valley and just may need to know that they are being thought of and prayed for. Baby blankets are given to newborns or newly adopted babies and periodically to adoption agencies such as Miriam’s Promise.
The Prayer Ministry Team at Lebanon First United Methodist Church is made up of members that have a heart to pray for various people or situations, both within and outside of the church. The prayer ministry list is continuously updated and a current list of prayer needs is sent out to the Prayer Ministry Team every Tuesday, either by mail or email. Cards are also available for those members of the Prayer Ministry Team that would like to send written encouragement/prayers to those they are praying for.
